Ziggurats
These savvy builders know all the winning moves.
Construction staff from competing firms, Alala Architects and Belili Builders, have arrived onsite. It seems like the king accidentally hired both companies for the same job. Not to worry, they’ve got a civilized way to sort things out - they’ll take turns adding blocks to the ziggurats, and whoever places the very last block atop the last ziggurat will get all the fame and glory.
✅ You may place either a 1x1 block or a 1x2 block aligned to the given grid. 1x2 blocks may leave a 1x1 gap underneath them.
❌ You may not place any block such that it floats or hangs over an edge. You also cannot fill a 1x1 gap created by a previous 1x2 block.
⚠️ For a site that has multiple ziggurats, the team that places the last block in the last ziggurat gets credit (not the team that places the last block in the first ziggurat).
Wanting to be sure that they make the right strategic decisions, the foreman from Alala Architects asks for your opinion on where they could lay the first stone in each site. The foreman isn't concerned with having a completely perfect proposal - about 6 out of 8 completely correct sites should be sufficient. Once you submit an acceptable proposal to the foreman, he'll give you some more helpful information.
